The 6th grade Basal Alignment Project materials were revised and vetted within WCSD.  The rewriters went through the same process and used the same tools as the work with the 3-5 stories.  We welcome and encourage constructive feedback to improve the quality of these revisions.  Update:  6th grade HMH rewrites have been added to the BAP site above—6th grade teachers may access then from either group.

Basal Alignment Project Use Join Code: F4Q6NM

Basal Alignment Project lessons were written backwards from the instructional shifts. They allow educators to more closely align classroom practice to the expectations of the CCSS. The prudent use of these materials should include professional development around Student Achievement Partners’ Text Complexity Rubric and Guide to Writing Text-Dependent Questions. Update:  6th grade HMH rewrites have been added to the BAP site!

Close Reading Exemplars  https://edmo.do/j/crm2l3

The Close Reading Exemplars, primarily developed by Student Achievement Partners, have been vetted by several sources, and meet the criteria of a “close read.”  Per the recommendations in the 3-year Plan, C&I suggests that grade levels plan to use 2-3 vetted close reads in the Plan-Do-Study-Act model for continuous improvement.
